Sabeel Students Shine

Sabeel Complete Annual Muslim Charity Run

Sabeel students made a memorable mark at this year’s Annual Muslim Charity Run, held at Victoria Park. Organised by the East London Mosque, the event brought together over 1,000 participants of all ages, united in a collective effort to support various charitable causes. Representing Sabeel, a dedicated team of runners took to the track to raise both awareness and funds, showcasing their commitment to community engagement.

This year marked the 11th Muslim Charity Run and was an especially proud moment for the Sabeel family. Many Sabeel students who call East London home participated in the 5K run, bringing a sense of unity and enthusiasm that resonated throughout the day.

The event provided a unique platform for participants to come together with other local groups. For the Sabeel runners, it was more than just a race; it was a chance to connect, inspire, and be inspired by their peers and community leaders alike.

One dedicated Sabeel runner, participating in the race for the second time, reflected on the experience, saying:

It was amazing to see so many young children and familiar faces, running not just for fitness, but for something bigger than ourselves.

He went on to describe the energy and excitement as runners of all ages, some as young as four, navigated the course in a show of unity and mutual support.

One of the Sabeel participants finished first in his age category, securing a personal best time. He described this achievement as a “humbling experience,” which he felt lifted him to unforeseen heights.

MRDF expressed pride in its students' active role in community events. Sabeel’s participation in the Muslim Charity Run demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to fostering unity and community spirit while encouraging students to lead by example.

Sabeel looks forward to many more opportunities to connect with the community and support meaningful causes in the future. We ask Allah to accept it from them all. Ameen
