Shaykh Ebraheem Bham Visits MRDF
A Day of Inspiration and Connection
At MRDF, we had the honour of welcoming renowned South African Scholar, Shaykh Ebraheem Ismail Bham, on a special visit to the UK. Shaykh Ebraheem, a prominent Islamic scholar and global advocate for education, development and interfaith collaboration, was accompanied by Shaykh Yunus Dudhwala for this inspiring visit. It was a momentous occasion for the MRDF team to meet with one of South Africa’s most respected scholars and share insights about their work in the UK.
Shaykh Ebraheem is the founder member and vice chairman of Johannesburg Muslim School, executive committee member of National Religious Leaders Forum (Initiated By South Africans for Greater Liaison between Religious Groups and Government). His contributions extend to health and social welfare programmes, such as the Muslim AIDS Programme (MAP), and he is a national trustee of the Moral Regeneration Movement, which strives to work towards the improvement of morality amongst South Africans. Shaykh Ebraheem holds an executive role with the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA).
MRDF’s team members felt honored to introduce Shaykh Ebraheem to the UK-based projects that resonate with the values he has long championed. Shaykh Ebraheem reciprocated with reflections on his extensive work beyond South Africa, where he’s made substantial contributions in countries like Australia, UK, USA, Somalia, Palestine, Eygpt, Turkey, Sri Lanka and Malawi. This was a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and strategies for community-building and da’wah efforts worldwide.
Shaykh Ebraheem is known for his impactful da’wah efforts across the globe, took part in discussions about MRDF’s ongoing projects, as well as the organisation’s broader mission that supports and strengthens Muslim communities in the UK.
As the day concluded, MRDF expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Shaykh Ebraheem Bham for sharing his invaluable insights and witnessing the impact of MRDF’s work in the UK. It was a remarkable day of mutual inspiration and learning, and the MRDF team hopes this meeting will pave the way for future collaborations with leaders who, like Shaykh Ebraheem, are dedicated to making a difference globally.
MRDF is truly honoured to have had the opportunity to host Shaykh Ebraheem Bham and Shaykh Yunus Dudhwala and to exchange insights into the profound work of da’wah and community support that transcends borders and brings diverse Muslim communities closer together.
