Sabeel takes on Dragon Boat Race!

‘Row, Row, Row your boat team Sabeel!’

It was a wonderful day of dedication, exhaustion, hard work, positive mindset, a winning attitude and team work this year at the Al-Noor annual dragon Boat Race 2022, which was held at the beautiful landscape of Fairlop Waters, Hainault. This annual event saw over 180 teams participating, over £500K raised and more than 50 registered charities, all who came together to compete in support for noble causes.

The Sabeel Team had only a day of training just to get a feel of the boat, the rowing and the movement. They turned up on the day smashing their first race with a winning time of 78 seconds leaving the other boats far behind. As the race went on, they reached the finals with previous year winners who regularly train and always make the finals.

Sabeel entered this boat race for the first time and finished 5th on the overall leaderboard. With the help of all their donors, they raised an amazing £5.2K. MashaaAllah tabarakallah, this was a brilliant effort on their part. We ask Allah to accept all their hard work, the donations of all those who generously gave to these great causes and to help them continue their good work. Ameen.

This was an inspiring moment for many of the Sabeel brothers as they are already talking about competing next year with a stronger team.

We at MRDF are proud to see Sabeel Students participating and competing in these community events, and hope their contribution to our community can be a positive one for all.
